Restoring landscapes at scale - in ways that work for local communities, economies and nature.

Greening Uganda

People thrive when nature thrives

Climate change and biodiversity loss are the two biggest environmental challenges of our time for people and nature. Uganda is as vulnerable to the effects of climate change; our communities are already experiencing the impacts of a warming climate and a significant decline in biodiversity.

We need to rebuild nature to help protect and restore our unique ecosystems, and build a more resilient, biodiverse and sustainable planet for all.

It’s more than a tree

Avella Sights sets out to try and tackle Uganda’s complex environmental challenges through large-scale, on-ground restoration. Our plan is to take action to rebuild resilient ecosystems right across Uganda, from the warm waters of Lake Victoria to the cool mountain forests of the Rwenzori. With a multi-faceted approach, Avella Sights aim to engage with communities, businesses and government agencies to restore vital wildlife habitats, embrace sustainable land-use practices and promote awareness of the environment. By working together, we hope to shape a future where Uganda’s natural beauty remains preserved and flourishing for generations to come. .

We hope to restore landscapes with innovative and science-based solutions which support native wildlife, increase biodiversity, improve water quality and sequester carbon on a massive scale. By rebuilding ecosystems, we shall restore our economy, thus helping to create healthy, productive landscapes where people and nature can thrive – now and for future generations.

Why Trees

HELP REVERSE CLIMATE CHANGE

Trees draw down billions of tons of carbon every year. More trees, more carbon absorbed.

RESTORE BIODIVERSITY

Wildlife love trees just as much as we do. Planting trees brings back wildlife habitats, wetlands and springs.

GROW LOCAL ECONOMIES

Every dollar donated creates local benefits, skill-building and employing people from the local community.
