The tourism industry is a vital economic sector for Uganda, contributing 7.7% of the country’s GDP and employing approximately 667,000 people, according to the Uganda Tourism Board.
Responsible business practices are crucial for every travel agency so as to preserve the country’s natural and cultural heritage while creating sustainable economic growth. This involves engaging in environmentally friendly practices such as reducing waste, promoting energy efficiency, and supporting conservation efforts. We are proud to state that Avella Sights is one such responsible travel agency.
We have also gone a step further to promote responsible tourism by educating TrAvellas on the importance of respecting the local culture and environment and supporting local communities through responsible tourism initiatives.
Further, being a socially responsible travel agency as we are, we have also embarked on promotion of diversity and inclusion by employing people from different backgrounds and providing equal opportunities for all employees. This helps to promote economic growth and tackle poverty in Uganda. Animal Welfare
As a responsible and conscious travel company, we take animal welfare seriously. We do not promote activities such as elephant rides! No petting or lion walks either, sorry folks! Our stance remains the same - let's leave the wild animals to do what they do best, which is, well...be wild! So, instead of exploiting them for our entertainment, let's enjoy them in their natural habitat, from a safe distance of course. So, go ahead and book your adventure with confidence, knowing that animal welfare is at the forefront of our minds and operations. Let's respect these magnificent creatures and show them the love they deserve!
